January - March, 2026
Dear Fellow Laborers in the Lord,
“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. ” (Hebrews 11:1)
I can not believe that the first quarter of the year has already passed. We are so grateful for what the Lord has done in so many different ways. We have truly seen His hand at work, sometimes in ways we did not expect, and other times after much prayer and seeking His face.
We want to take a moment to reflect on our Christmas outreach in late December. The Lord allowed us to have an attendance of 32 people, during which we were able to give out gifts, present the Gospel, and share how the Bible prophesied Jesus, the coming Messiah. Praise the Lord, we saw four people trust Jesus Christ as their Savior during that outreach. That alone was a tremendous encouragement as we stepped into this new season.
Following that, the Lord opened a door for us to rent that event hall where we had the Christmas outreach on Sunday mornings. Although it was not in the exact area of the city we were targeting, it allowed us to move out of the living room and into a space where we could better accommodate people. We were able to set up and tear down each week, fellowship after services, and continue building relationships. The Lord used that season in a great way, as we began to see new visitors coming who had not been attending before. The children’s class also began to grow, which was a personal blessing to my heart.
Toward the end of January, I was praying specifically about how to reach San Pedro, Garza García. As I mentioned earlier, I initially approached the municipal government about renting a space. They had previously said that religious organizations were not permitted to use their event halls for that purpose. After prayer and seeking counsel, I returned and approached it differently, presenting it as a personal and family development study focused on helping the community. The Lord used that approach, and the door opened for us to rent a government event hall right in the area we had been praying about.
We were humbled and excited to see how the Lord worked in that situation. For February, we rented this event hall on Sundays. We began holding two services during the hours we rented: a morning preaching service followed by a second service structured to teach Biblical fundamentals. During that time, we began teaching on Baptist distinctives and also launched a general discipleship series that we are continuing through the end of May. It has been a blessing not only to see people attend, but to see them begin to grow and understand why we believe what we believe from the Word of God.
During this time, Mariana also began a monthly ladies’ meeting on the last Saturday of each month. She teaches a lesson on women in the Bible, followed by fellowship and a small activity. Praise the Lord, each meeting has had visitors, and some of those ladies have now started attending our Sunday services as well. It has been a great opportunity to build connections and encourage spiritual growth among the women.
As we came into March, the Lord answered one of our biggest prayers. On February 21st, we secured a permanent location in the exact area we have been trying to reach. The Lord provided an 83-square-meter commercial space within our budget and with fewer requirements, through someone who knew our family and simply wanted to help. We have been meeting there since that day.
Since moving in on March 1st, we have been able to make some minor adjustments to suit the space better, creating a separate area for the children and setting up the main auditorium. Watching the people come in, help clean, organize, and prepare the space was a blessing. There was a genuine excitement and faith among the group, and to see that faith turn into reality as the Lord provided has been incredibly encouraging.
We have also seen the Lord continue to work in hearts. We’ve had opportunities to pass out Bibles, witness to many individuals, and invite several people out. Praise the Lord, we are seeing not just numerical growth, but spiritual growth as well. We have seen people trust Chris, others gain assurance of salvation, and several begin taking steps of discipleship. It has been a joy to see souls saved and then continue in their walk with the Lord, growing in truth and grounded in His Word.
On a personal note, Mariana has continued her follow-up care, and we praise the Lord that she has begun treatment that is helping regulate and reduce the cysts. We are thankful for the doctor and care she has received and for how the Lord has provided through it all. We also want to sincerely thank each of you who prayed and gave toward the medical expenses. The Lord used you in a great way, and we are deeply grateful. We are so humbled to have partners who hold the ropes as we continue to work for the Lord here.
As we look back over these past three months, we can truly say that God has been faithful in every step. From souls saved to people being discipled to doors opening that once seemed closed, we have seen His hand at work continually. It has strengthened our faith and reminded us that what may seem impossible to us is never impossible for Him.
We are so thankful for your continued prayers, support, and partnership in this ministry. Your investment in what God is doing here is not taken lightly. We ask that you continue to pray for the growth of the church, for continued open doors in this community, and for us to remain faithful in the work the Lord has called us to do.
