March and April 2025
Dear Fellow Laborers in the Lord,
"Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ." (Philippians 1:6)
Reflecting on this verse, we’re reminded that when God starts a work, He doesn’t leave it unfinished. What He begins, He carries through. Over the past few months, we’ve seen that truth come to life. From the early days of preparation, to the answered prayers, to the doors He’s opening now in Mexico, we are confident that the Lord is doing a good work, not just in us, but through your faithful partnership as well. This update is a testimony of how He continues to guide, provide, and build His church in His perfect time.
A Blessed Journey to Mexico We’re excited to share that we moved down to Mexico on April 1st, and the journey was filled with some memorable “missionary adventures!” Coming out of Nashville, both tires on our trailer blew near Dickson, Tennessee. We are thankful that the Lord placed a pastor who helped us return on the road with brand-new tires the following morning. As we continued through Memphis, we hit some intense storms with almost zero visibility (let’s just say our prayer life got real)! Then, in Little Rock, our van added to the excitement with a flat tire. Through it all, God protected us and brought us here safely.
Ministry Opportunities Along the Way Even in transit, the Lord opened doors for the gospel. I met Cynthia at a gas station while walking our dog. A conversation about dogs turned into a gospel conversation. She shared that she had stopped believing in God and wasn’t sure He was even real. Though she didn’t make a decision that day, she said our conversation gave her a lot to think about, and she would consider looking into it again; please pray for her.
I also had the opportunity to witness to Sergio and Guero (a nickname meaning light-skinned), two workers helping with our house construction. They listened attentively and asked thoughtful questions. Please pray for them to be saved and that I’ll have more chances to have more conversations about salvation.
Bible Study We’ve started settling in and laying the foundation for ministry. On Resurrection Sunday, we held our first Bible study in a home with nearly 15 people in attendance. It was a sweet time of fellowship and a hopeful glimpse into what God has in store. While we’re currently meeting in a house, we’re actively praying and looking for a more permanent location to hold these meetings, which we believe will soon grow into regular church services.
An Opportunity to Help We also want to share something new the Lord has put in front of us. A church here in Monterrey has been without a pastor for over three years. The congregation of about thirty has stayed faithful but is in great need of shepherding and encouragement. We’re beginning conversations with the pastor and church overseeing them to see how we might step in to help, whether preaching, encouraging the people, or simply standing in the gap, as they seek God’s direction for a new pastor. Please pray for an open door for wisdom as we consider how the Lord might use us in this opportunity.
