July - September, 2025
Dear Fellow Laborers in the Lord,
“This is the LORD’s doing; it is marvellous in our eyes.” (Psalm 118:23)
We love beginning this update by sharing how the Lord has once again answered prayer. For months, many of you have joined us in praying that the remaining balance on the land would be met. On July 25th, God gave us the privilege of paying off Luis Carlos and signing the final documents. The picture included is from that very moment. We were reminded again that the Lord always provides through His people, in His perfect timing. What could have been a heavy burden was entirely lifted by His hand. We are deeply grateful to each of you who gave and prayed, making it possible for this step to be completed.
God Is Building His Work
Since our last update, the Lord has continued to grow the Bible study in ways that have encouraged our hearts. Week after week, new faces arrive, and many of them stay. Some have expressed their wish that we were closer to their homes, while others simply come faithfully, squeezing into the living room. The truth is, we have now reached the point where we are no longer fitting comfortably in the house where we meet. It is humbling to see that what was once a small gathering is now blossoming into the foundation of a church.
Mariana and I have also begun several one-on-one discipleship sessions. We will start with a few new people. One of the most moving stories is that of Danny and Erica. Danny is a prodigal son who grew up in the church but turned away from it and walked into the world. Years of living in the world left him scarred and broken. Now, by God’s mercy, he is returning, determined to rebuild his life in Christ and to lead his family in faith. Sitting across from him as he shares his heart reminds me of why the Lord sent us here. Please pray for Danny and Erica as they take these first steps in discipleship.
Recently, I was preaching on justification out of Romans 5, and during that service, Erica and her son Aden received Jesus as their Savior. What a beautiful moment it was to see tears of conviction turn into joy and peace in their hearts. We praise the Lord that the Gospel still changes lives, and we ask that you continue to pray for Danny and his family as they grow in their new walk with the Lord.
Family Blessings
The Lord has been good to our family during these months. On July 30th, our youngest daughter, Alya, celebrated her 8th birthday. Then on September 3rd, Naya turned 10! We are grateful to God for giving them another year of life. Their joy, energy, and willingness to serve have been such a blessing as we take these first steps in Mexico.
We also rejoice with José and Karol. After completing their premarital counseling, they are preparing for their wedding on October 3rd. It has been a privilege to walk with them during this season and to point them to Christ as the foundation of their home. Please pray for them as they begin this new chapter together.
Ministry Highlights
On September 12, we celebrated Mexican Independence Day with our Bible study group. It was a wonderful morning filled with visitors, fellowship, and a meal on the grounds. Our study was invited to join a sister church for their own Independence Day celebration, where I had the privilege of preaching. These special moments remind us that ministry is both spiritual and relational. The Lord Jesus conducted a great deal of ministry in the word and around the table.
We have also been able to write and distribute several gospel tracts, as well as place Bibles into the hands of those eager to read them. Every tract given and every Bible received is another seed planted, and we trust God to bring forth the fruit in His time.
A Sobering Reminder
In August, we were shaken by news of tragedy. A fleeing cartel member attacked a brother and sister from the same sister church. He had already murdered two people and now hijacked this couple’s car. The brother was shot twice but survived; the sister, however, was killed instantly. She had been a faithful servant of the Lord for many years, and her absence is deeply felt. While grief swept our study and the church, the Gospel was preached in the midst of sorrow, and we thank God for souls saved. Moments like these remind us both of the urgency of the Gospel and the reality of spiritual warfare in this place. Please continue to pray for the family left behind, for the local church, and for peace in this region.
Looking Ahead
As we move forward, we have decided to send updates on a quarterly basis. This will enable us to stay focused on the ministry while keeping you informed about how the Lord is working. We appreciate your patience and understanding.
In the meantime, we continue to trust God each day. He has proven Himself faithful through provision, through growth, and even through trials. We are humbled to be a part of His work here, and we could not do it without your faithful prayers, encouragement, and support. Thank you for standing with us. Let us remain faithful until He comes!
